Video published shows a windsurfer colliding with a whale in the San Francisco Bay.

In the video, a large cargo ship travels slowly by in the background, while in the foreground, beachgoers enjoy a sunny day on the Bay. Then, a speeding windsurfer suddenly bursts into the frame from the right. As the wetsuit-clad man on the sailboard moves into the center of the frame, a gray whale breaches the surface directly in his path.

With no time to react, the man on the board collides with the surfacing whale and goes flying off his board. The whale, which doesn’t appear too troubled by the incident, disappears into the deep, leaving the windsurfer looking dazed, but appearing unharmed, and floating in the water with his board.
