Ammon News - AMMONNEWS – Jordanian Anti-Narcotics Department cadres seized large quantities of illegal Captagon drug pills on Wednesday, and foiled an attempt by two individuals to smuggle the drugs into a neighboring country.
Anti-Narcotics Department worked on a tip-off about illegal activities in storing large quantities of drugs in an Amman district and a plan to smuggle the drugs into a neighboring country, Public Security Directorate (PSD) spokesperson Major Muhammad Khatib said.
The person possessing the drugs and the storage location were identified, Khatib said, noting that the two suspects, one Jordanian and another Arab national, were planning to smuggle the drugs by placing them in truck tires.
After extensive surveillance, the truck was tracked and seized. 240,000 Captagon drug pills were found in one of the tires, Khatib added, and the suspects were apprehended.
