Ammon News - The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has highlighted the historic first appearance of the Jordan national football team at the FIFA World Cup, noting that the team enters Group J carrying the ambitions of a rising football nation.

According to the AFC's official website, the Nashama are aiming to create their own legacy in their debut World Cup campaign. Jordan will face Austria national football team at the San Francisco Bay Area Stadium on June 17, before taking on two heavyweight opponents, Algeria national football team and Argentina national football team, on June 23 and 28, respectively.

The AFC's remarks came as part of its preview of the Asian teams participating in the tournament, praising Jordan's historic qualification and participation on football's biggest stage.
