Ammon News - AMMAN The University of Jordan UJ and Libya's Al-Tahadi University signed on Sunday a memorandum of understanding to twin colleges in the two educational institutions.
The Memo also calls for setting up Joint committees to supervise academic theses and evaluate scientific research projects to promote teaching staff.
The memo encourages UJ teaching staff to spend their sabbatical leaves at Al-Tahadi University and exchange visits by professors.
The memo was signed by UJ President, Khaled Karaki, and Al-Tahaddi University's Secretary of the People's Committee, Mohammad Abdul Hamid Abdul Rahman.
Abdul Rahman gave a briefing on the Libyan university's establishment, educational philosophy and future plans to improve higher education in the North African country.
Al-Tahadi University is a public university in the Libyan city of Sirt.
It was established as a university in 1991, for the two years before that, it had been operated as a branch of Garyounis University.
There are thirteen faculties, or schools, at Al-Tahadi University.
