12-02-2010 10:11 AM

Ammon News - GAZA The Muslim-Christian Commission in the Gaza Strip on Sunday condemned an Israeli attack on the Emmaus Church in occupied Jerusalem yesterday.

It said in a statement that Israeli forces had encircled and stormed the church under "false" pretexts in an escalation that inflamed the passions of Muslims and Christians in the holy city and constituted a violation of international law.

The commission noted that it had been closely monitoring the Israeli violations against holy sites in Jerusalem and called on the international community to act promptly and hold Israel accountable for its "continued crimes" against Muslim and Christian places of worship.
