Army kills smuggler on border with Syria, foils drug smuggling attempt
The Eastern Military Zone, in coordination with military services and the Anti-Narcotics Department (AND), at dawn n Wednesday, thwarted an infiltration attempt, and drugs trafficking from the Syrian territories into the Kingdom, according to a responsible military source from the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces - Arab Army.
The clash resulted in the death of one of the smugglers, the injury of others, and their retreat into deep Syria. The seized contraband has been handed over to appropriate authorities.
