Jordan foreign minister lands in Rwanda for strategic dialogue on cooperation
The Foreign Minister of Jordan, Ayman Safadi, and the Jordanian Army chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the General Intelligence Department (GID) director Tuesday landed in Kigali, Rwanda, to participate in the strategic dialogue on cooperation.
Safadi, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Huneiti, and the GID Director, Major General Ahmad Hosni, laid wreaths at the Genocide Memorial in Kigali before a meeting with Rwanda Foreign Minister Vincent Biruta.
Safadi said in press statements after a tour of the monument that documents the genocide in an area where about 250,000 of its victims were buried, 'This monument stands as a sad reminder of the evil generated by hatred, ignorance and racial discrimination in Rwanda, which, today, presents with what it had achieved in renaissance and growth a model for what respect for the other, justice and compassion result in goodness and prosperity.'
