At the meeting, which focused on efforts to bring about peace in the region, the King reiterated Jordan's supportive stance towards the peace negotiations between the Palestinians and Israelis based on international legitimacy resolutions, the two-state solution and the Arab Peace Initiative.
His Majesty stressed the importance of achieving a just and comprehensive peace, leading to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the Palestinian national soil that preserves Jordan's higher interests, mainly those related to final status issues.
