In a statement to Jordan News Agency, Petra, on the sidelines of his participation in the West Asia North Africa Forum, which concluded in Amman yesterday, Sasakawa stated that civil society institutions play a major role in resolving conflicts and helping refugees, noting that the forum had discussed issues related to the displaced people and the means of assisting them.
The Nippon Foundation is a private, non-profit grant-making organization. It was established in 1962. The foundation’s mission is to redirect Japanese motorboat racing revenue toward philanthropic activities, and it uses these funds to pursue global maritime development and to provide assistance for humanitarian work, both at home and abroad.
