Credit facilities extended by banks increase in Q1 2026
Total credit facilities extended by banks and companies increased by JD1.543 billion during the first quarter of 2026.
According to a report by the Central Bank of Jordan, obtained by 'Ammon New,' the capital, Amman, received the largest share of credit facilities, amounting to JD30.140 billion.
It was followed by Irbid in second place with JD1.870 billion, while Zarqa ranked third with JD1.294 billion.
Meanwhile, Tafilah recorded the lowest value of credit facilities at approximately JD149.3 million, followed by Jerash with JD219.4 million.
The total value of credit facilities during the first quarter of 2026 reached JD 36.673 billion, compared with JD 35.138 billion during the same period in 2025.
