Jordan witnesses weakest rainy season since 1979, JMD
Head of the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) Raed Al Khattab, on Tuesday, said that the last rainy season was the weakest since the 1978-1979 season.
Al Khattab explained in a statement that most regions of the Kingdom achieved their general seasonal averages during the last season, with the exception of the southern regions. Meanwhile, the current 2024/2025 rainy season remains weak and below average to date in all regions of the Kingdom.
Climate statistics from the department indicate that the current 2024/2025 rainy season is the weakest since the 1978/1979 season, Al Khattab added.
