AMMONNEWS - Over 1.288 million registered voters casted their ballots since Wednesday morning in various voting stations throughout the kingdom electing a total of 150 members to represent them in the Lower House of Parliament.

The announcement of winners in the race for seats in the 17th Lower House of Parliament will be announced later tonight.
The preliminary total number of voters who got out to vote until 8:00 PM reached over 56.69 percent (1,288,043) out of a total of 2.27 million registered to vote, Ammon News reporter Mohammad Habahbeh reported from the media center set up by the Independent Elections Commission (IEC) at the Royal Cultural Center in Amman.

The southern and Central Badia regions registered the highest percentages of voter turnout, reaching 73.25 and 74.76 percent respectively, with the highest percentage registered in the northern Badia region with a turnout of 75.27 percent.
43.18 percent of registered voters turned out to vote in the capital Amman, with the lowest voter turnout compared to other governorates.
