Ammon News - The Traffic Department warned drivers on Sunday of reduced horizontal visibility on several roads in the capital, Amman, due to fog and rainfall, urging motorists to drive cautiously and remain in their designated lanes.
Captain Musab Al-Marayat, an officer at the Traffic Department’s Operations Room, said fog had affected visibility and morning traffic, particularly on Airport Road, from Al-Multaqa Tunnel towards Al-Nahda Roundabout and King Abdullah II Street, as well as roads extending from Sweileh Tunnel towards Khalda, Al-Shaab and the Eighth Circle.
Al-Marayat urged drivers to exercise caution, adjust their speed to road conditions, stay in the correct lane and avoid making random lane changes.
He noted that rainfall had also slowed traffic in several locations, confirming that traffic personnel were stationed at road entrances and exits and intersections to monitor traffic and provide necessary guidance.
He added that traffic was particularly heavy towards central Amman, especially around the Seventh and Eighth Circles, Airport Road, the University of Jordan area and University Bridge. Traffic patrols were working to regulate traffic and facilitate the movement of vehicles.
Al-Marayat said traffic conditions were being continuously monitored and congestion addressed, urging drivers to prioritize their safety and delay their journeys when necessary if visibility conditions required it.
