European Commissioner for the Mediterranean Dubravka Šuica said Jordan represents a pillar of stability in the region and an increasingly attractive investment destination, stressing that Europe is ready to invest in the Kingdom and turn the strategic and comprehensive partnership between Jordan and the European Union into tangible investment opportunities that support economic growth and create jobs.
In remarks ahead of the Jordan-EU Investment Conference, scheduled for November 18–19, Šuica said the partnership between the two sides is being translated into practical opportunities for investment, growth and job creation.
She noted that new opportunities are emerging in digital connectivity, energy, infrastructure, green technologies and high-value-added industries.
Šuica said Jordan is working to improve its business environment, simplify procedures, expand digital services and facilitate investors’ access to investment incentives.
"Europe is ready to invest," Šuica affirmed, explaining that through the "Team Europe" initiative, the EU is bringing together the Union, its member states and financial institutions to mobilize investment and turn ideas into bankable projects.
Jordan-EU Investment Conference
Jordan will host the Jordan-EU Investment Conference on November 19 at the King Hussein bin Talal Convention Centre in the Dead Sea area, under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is expected to participate, alongside European officials and representatives of the private sector and financial and investment institutions.
Closed-door private-sector dialogue sessions will precede the conference on November 18, providing investors and companies with an opportunity to explore investment prospects and establish direct partnerships in targeted sectors.
Jordan is preparing to present a portfolio of investment opportunities worth nearly $15 billion, equivalent to approximately €13 billion, spanning 15 sectors and subsectors. Key areas include energy, mining, transport, logistics, tourism, water, industry and clean technology.
The portfolio includes investment opportunities worth approximately $7.1 billion in energy and mining, $3.56 billion in transport, $1.61 billion in logistics, $1.08 billion in tourism, $442 million in water, and $265 million in industry and the circular economy.
The conference comes within the framework of the strategic and comprehensive partnership between Jordan and the European Union, launched in January 2025. The partnership was accompanied by the announcement of a €3 billion European financial and investment assistance package for 2025–2027, aimed at supporting Jordan’s economy and strengthening economic and investment cooperation between the two sides.
The conference aims to connect Jordanian projects and investment opportunities with European investors and financing institutions through direct meetings between companies and government entities, as well as discussions on financing mechanisms and ways to turn the proposed opportunities into implementable projects
