Ammon News - Apartment sales in Jordan rose by 17% year-on-year in September, driven by the continued implementation of a government decision that fully or partially exempts residential apartments from registration fees based on their size. Sales increased across all three apartment size categories, led by units smaller than 120 square meters, which recorded a 24% rise.
According to the monthly report issued by the Department of Lands and Survey, total apartment sales reached 3,976 units in September, compared with 3,384 units in the same month of 2025, an increase of 592 apartments. Sales also climbed 7% compared with August, when 3,708 apartments were sold.
During the first nine months of the year, total apartment sales stood at 26,743 units, compared with 27,508 units during the same period last year, marking a 3% decline.
This reflects a contrast between September’s strong performance and the market’s cumulative performance since the beginning of the year.
Data showed that sales of apartments ranging between 120 and 150 square meters increased by 8% during the first nine months of the year, reaching 7,615 units, compared with 7,082 units during the same period in 2025. This category posted the highest growth rate among the three size segments since the start of the year.
In September alone, sales in this category rose by 20% to 1,063 apartments, up from 885 in the same month last year.
For apartments larger than 150 square meters, sales increased by 2% during the first nine months of the year, reaching 12,614 units compared with 12,407 units during the corresponding period in 2025.
This category also recorded a 16% increase in September, with sales reaching 1,735 apartments, compared with 1,496 units in the same month last year.
Meanwhile, apartments smaller than 120 square meters recorded the strongest growth in September among all size categories, with sales rising 24% to 1,444 units, compared with 1,161 units in September 2025.
Despite this monthly surge, sales of this category declined by 1% during the first nine months of the year, totaling 8,272 apartments compared with 8,351 units during the same period last year.
On November 12, 2024, the Cabinet approved a decision granting a 50% exemption from registration fees for residential apartments larger than 150 square meters, in addition to the existing decision providing a 100% exemption for apartments smaller than 150 square meters.
