Ammon News - The Ministry of Water and Irrigation / Water Authority said that its Internal Control Unit, Water Basins Directorate, and Central Workshops Directorate, in cooperation with the Public Security Directorate, detected several water violations during a security campaign in southern Amman.
The violations, found in Naour and Umm Al-Amad, included two illegal one-inch water lines. One line was being used to supply and sell water tankers in Naour, while the second was supplying homes and providing water to a large pool and plant nursery in Umm Al-Amad.
In coordination with the Jiza Security Center and Jordan Water Company Miyahuna, authorities also seized an excavator that was illegally drilling a groundwater well in the Al-Safawi area, specifically in Al-Baqi'awiya/Tal Hassan within the Mafraq Basin.
The operation was part of ongoing inspection campaigns carried out by the Water Authority across the Kingdom, in cooperation with relevant agencies, under efforts to strengthen control over water resources.
The ministry added that its teams disconnected the illegal lines, corrected the violations, confiscated the excavator, and transferred it to the Water Authority’s Central Workshops Directorate. Official reports were filed to complete investigations and take legal action against those responsible.
