Ammon News - Journalist Yanal Al-Ma’ani has announced the launch of Ahdath Al Mamlaka daily newspaper joining Jordan’s existing print publications.
Journalist Hazem Al-Khalidi will serve as the newspaper’s editor-in-chief. The newspaper has chosen Zarqa Governorate as the location of its main offices.
Following the publication of its inaugural issue on Monday, Al-Ma’ani, the newspaper’s owner and general manager, said: "With great pride, we place in your hands the zero issue of Ahdat Al-Mamlaka, taking the first step toward a media journey that we hope will be filled with achievement, excellence and credibility."
He added that the newspaper was founded out of a belief that journalism is a message, and that truthful reporting can raise awareness, present events professionally and objectively, and highlight the key issues and developments affecting the country and society.
The launch brings the number of daily print newspapers in Jordan to 11, including two English-language publications, The Jordan Times and Jordan News. The Arabic-language newspapers are Addustor, Al-Rai, Al-Ghad, Sada Al-Shaab, Nabd Al-Balad, Al-Sabeel, Al-Anbat, and Al-Umma.
It is worth noting that Jordanian news website "Ammon" has also published an English-language online newspaper alongside its Arabic edition for 20 years. Meanwhile, Addustor previously published an English-language print edition, The Star, which ceased publication several years ago.
