Ammon News - Preliminary data released by the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) showed that total workers' remittances flowing into the Kingdom increased by 13.3% in June 2026, reaching $434.1 million.
During the first half of 2026, inbound remittances rose to $2.496 billion, marking a 14.3% increase compared to the same period last year.
The data revealed that remittances from the United Arab Emirates ranked first among all inbound transfers to Jordan, accounting for 21.2% of the total. The United States followed with 19.6%, then Saudi Arabia with 17.7%, Qatar with 10.3%, and Kuwait with 5.5%, while other countries accounted for 25.7% of total inbound remittances.
Meanwhile, outbound workers' remittances from Jordan increased by 17.7% in June 2026 compared to June 2025, reaching $162.6 million. During the first half of 2026, outbound remittances totaled $969.3 million, up 15.5%.
Egypt ranked first among destinations for remittances sent from Jordan, accounting for 41.5% of total outbound transfers, followed by Bangladesh with 11.8%, the Philippines with 4.8%, and Palestine with 4.0%, while other countries accounted for 37.9% of total outbound remittances.
