13-08-2026 08:16 AM

Ammon News - The American Chamber of Commerce in Jordan (AmCham-Jordan) hosted an Executive Lunch titled "Jordan–U.S. Economic Relations: A Business Leaders' Perspective” at the Grand Hyatt Amman. The event was attended by H.E. Eng. Yarub Qudah, Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply, and H.E. Jim Holtsnider, U.S. Ambassador to Jordan, and brought together business leaders, strategic partners, and AmCham-Jordan members, for a high-level dialogue on advancing bilateral trade, investment, and private-sector cooperation between Jordan and the United States. The event was sponsored by Aqaba Digital Hub.

The discussion provided an opportunity to exchange views on emerging commercial and investment opportunities and explore practical measures to strengthen partnerships between Jordanian and American companies.

The recent signing of the United States–Jordan Agreement on Reciprocal Trade presents further opportunities to expand bilateral trade and investment and deepen private-sector collaboration between the two countries. Participants discussed ways to build on the Agreement and seize new opportunities for businesses and investors in Jordan and the United States.

During the session, H.E. Eng. Yarub Qudah, Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply, said that the Agreement on Reciprocal Trade represents a new stage that complements the longstanding U.S.–Jordan Free Trade Agreement and creates additional opportunities to expand trade and investment in both directions. He noted that the preferential treatment available to a broad range of Jordanian products, particularly textiles and apparel, is expected to strengthen demand for Jordanian products, attract new investment, increase exports, and create additional employment opportunities.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Samer S. Judeh, Chairman of the AmCham-Jordan Board, reaffirmed the Chamber’s commitment to strengthening the longstanding economic partnership between Jordan and the United States.

"The Jordan–U.S. partnership continues to create tangible opportunities for businesses on both sides. AmCham-Jordan remains committed to serving as a trusted platform that brings together the public and private sectors to foster dialogue, expand trade and investment, and support a competitive and resilient business environment," Mr. Judeh said.

H.E. Jim Holtsnider, U.S. Ambassador to Jordan, said "The agreement on reciprocal trade recognizes the special bonds of U.S.-Jordan friendship and cooperation and unlocks new opportunities for American exporters, building upon almost 25 years of the U.S.-Jordan free-trade agreement, a win-win for both our nations.".

Through this initiative, AmCham-Jordan continues to serve as the leading platform connecting businesses and promoting partnerships that strengthen Jordan's economic ties with the United States and support long-term private-sector growth.
