Ammon News - The number of overnight tourists arriving in Jordan during June 2026 increased to 491,788, up 1.8% compared with the same period in 2025, when the figure stood at around 482,880 tourists.
According to data from the Ministry of Tourism reviewed by "Ammon News", the number of same-day visitors during the same period reached 108,428, marking a 3.7% decline compared with June 2025, when the number reached 112,575 visitors.
The total number of tourists and visitors in June 2026 rose to 600,216, an increase of 0.8% compared with the same month last year, when the total reached 595,455.
During the second quarter of 2026, the number of overnight tourists reached 1.307 million, down 11.2%. Same-day visitors totaled 309,891, a decrease of 1%, bringing the overall number of visitors to 1.617 million, down 9.4% compared with the second quarter of 2025, which recorded 1.471 million overnight tourists and 313,035 same-day visitors, totaling 1.784 million visitors.
Regarding overnight tourists by region in June 2026, Arab tourists ranked first, reaching 275,709, an increase of 14% compared with 241,916 in June 2025.
They were followed by Jordanians residing abroad, whose number reached 129,911, up 4.8% compared with 123,981 in the same month last year.
European overnight tourists ranked third, with 54,439 visitors, down 26.7% compared with 74,291 in 2025. Asian tourists followed with 14,838 visitors, a decline of 18.5% compared with 18,215 last year.
The number of overnight tourists from the Americas reached 13,510 in June 2026, down 34.5% from 20,633 during the same period in 2025, while African tourists totaled 3,381.
Arab visitors also topped the list of same-day visitors in June 2026, reaching 79,165, an increase of 3.8% compared with 76,301 in June 2025.
European same-day visitors ranked second at 20,559, down 25.3% from 27,525 last year.
Jordanians residing abroad ranked third among same-day visitors, with 5,233 visitors, up 21.4% compared with 4,310 in June 2025.
American same-day visitors totaled 2,026, down 26% from 2,739 in the same period last year.
Meanwhile, the number of Jordanians leaving the country for tourism purposes in May 2026 reached 127,851 individuals, an increase of 7.5% compared with 118,957 in May 2025.
During the first five months of 2026, the number of Jordanians traveling abroad for tourism purposes reached 563,001, down 13.1% compared with 647,516 during the same period last year.
