Ammon News - Jordan Industrial Estates Corporation (JIEC) signed a twinning agreement with MedZ, a subsidiary of the Moroccan Caisse de Dépôt et de Gestion (CDG) Group, in Rabat on Saturday to exchange expertise between Jordan and Morocco in the industrial estates field.

Under the memorandum, the two sides agreed to establish a general framework for cooperation in areas related to the development of industrial estates and economic activity zones, exchanging expertise and best practices related to the various stages of industrial estate development projects.

It includes sharing experiences in attracting investments, developing the industrial and logistical services system offered to investors, and exchanging expertise in sustainability, innovation, and digital transformation related to the development and management of industrial cities.

The agreement builds on previous cooperation frameworks between the two sides and serves as a foundation for further cooperation and the exchange of expertise, as both Jordan and Morocco have similar experiences in developing, managing, and promoting industrial cities, according to a joint statement.

JIEC Chairman Obied Yassin hailed the Moroccan expertise in the industrial cities field, stressing his company's keen interest to benefit from this experience, especially with the launch of the Jordanian industrial estates transformation vision.

It will broaden the scope of business from industrial real estate developers to developers of integrated systems encompassing industrial development, logistics, sustainability, governance, and innovation, he said.

JIEC General Manager Uday Obeidat said the memorandum complements the existing cooperation between the two sides, adding that Jordanian industrial estates will leverage Moroccan expertise particularly in promoting and attracting investment, as well as in the digital transformation of service delivery and supply chains.

MedZ CEO Marwan Abdel-Aati said the agreement will set the foundations for cooperation, which followed joint discussions and field visits during which both sides explored areas of development and mutual benefit in light of global transformations in this field.
