Damascus Chamber of Commerce welcomes Jordan's expanded investor facilities

23-07-2026 09:51 AM

Ammon News - President of the Damascus Chamber of Commerce Issam Ghreiwati welcomed Jordan's decision to grant new entry facilitations for Syrian investors and businesspersons, saying the measure reflects support for stronger economic and commercial relations between the two countries.

Ghreiwati said the decision to allow the families of Syrian investors and businesspersons holding Premium and First-Class membership cards issued by the Syrian Chambers of Commerce to enter Jordan without prior approval would help facilitate business travel and support investment-related activities.

He said the measure is expected to improve the movement of businesspersons, support trade in goods and services, and contribute to expanding commercial and investment cooperation between Jordan and Syria.

Ghreiwati also thanked Jordan's Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply, the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, the Amman Chamber of Commerce, and Jordan's ambassador in Damascus for their efforts to strengthen economic relations and address challenges facing the business community.

He expressed hope that the decision would be followed by additional measures aimed at further developing economic cooperation between the Jordanian and Syrian private sectors.

The Ministry of Interior recently announced that spouses and children under the age of 18 of Syrian investors and businesspersons holding Premium and First-Class membership cards issued by the Syrian Chambers of Commerce will be allowed to enter the Kingdom without prior approval.
