Remittances by Jordanian expats at $2.1mln in 5 months

Ammon News - Total remittances from Jordanian expatriates to the Kingdom increased by 14.5% during the first five months of 2026, reaching $2.062 billion, according to preliminary data released by the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ).

Meanwhile, outgoing remittances from Jordan increased by 15.0%, totaling $806.7 million.

The data showed that remittances from the United Arab Emirates ranked first among incoming transfers, accounting for 21.9% of total inflows, followed by the United States at 19.9%, Saudi Arabia at 17.9%, Qatar at 9.5%, and Kuwait at 5.4%. Other countries accounted for 25.4% of total incoming remittances.

For outgoing remittances, Egypt was the main destination, accounting for 41.1% of total transfers sent from Jordan, followed by Bangladesh (11.8%), the Philippines (4.9%), and Palestine (4.1%). Other countries represented 38.1% of total outgoing remittances.
