Ammon News - Iraqis topped the list of foreign nationalities owning real estate in Jordan during May of this year, with a total of 49 properties. Syrians came second with 24 properties, followed by Americans in third place with 15 properties, Palestinians in fourth place with 14 properties, while Saudis and Egyptians tied in fifth place with 13 properties each.
During the first five months of 2026, Iraqi nationals also ranked first with a total of 222 properties, followed by Saudis in second place with 120 properties. Syrians came third with 90 properties, Palestinians fourth with 78 properties, and Americans fifth with 62 properties.
The estimated value of these transactions reached JD19,652,185, an increase of 26% compared to the same month in 2025, and also a 26% increase compared to the previous month. Of this total, JD10,604,371 were for apartments (54%), and 9,047,814 dinars for land (46%).
During the first five months of the year, the total number of real estate transactions reached 855 properties, a decrease of 11% compared to the same period last year.
The report indicated that apartment transactions amounted to 530, down by 2%, while land transactions reached 325, down by 23%. The total estimated value stood at 75,313,143 dinars, a decrease of 7% compared to the same period in 2025.
