Ammon News - Minister of Health Ibrahim Bdour, said during a meeting with Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan at the ministry headquarters on Monday that the ministry has implemented a package of healthcare projects, including upgrading healthcare infrastructure and establishing and expanding a number of hospitals and health centers across the Kingdom, in order to enhance the capacity of the public health sector to meet citizens’ needs.
Bdour added that the ministry will establish 14 new health centers, rehabilitate 49 existing centers, and digitize 153 new facilities, which represent more than 30% of the total number of computerized facilities.
He also noted that 577 new hospital beds will be added over the current and previous two years, marking an increase of nearly 10% of the total number of beds in the Kingdom’s hospitals.
The ministry will also establish 13 new medical warehouses, accounting for nearly 40% of the total number of warehouses, and will automate 77 services out of 147 planned services over the next two years.
Bdour reviewed the ministry’s efforts and future plans focused on improving the quality of healthcare services, accelerating digital transformation, and strengthening the readiness of the public health system to meet current and future challenges and needs.
In addition, he noted that the ministry has adopted a unified national protocol for cancer treatment, a protocol for treating acute cardiac clots via catheterization, and reorganized outpatient clinic appointments in major hospitals—steps that aim to standardize treatment procedures and improve the efficiency of services provided to patients.
He added that the ministry plans to extend working hours and activate evening shifts in a number of comprehensive health centers, which will help reduce pressure on emergency departments and improve citizens’ access to healthcare services.
