Ammon News - Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities confirmed that the tourism sector has begun showing signs of gradual recovery, supported by a package of government measures and promotional programs implemented in cooperation with tourism stakeholders to mitigate the impact of regional challenges on travel and tourism.
In a statement on Saturday, the ministry said these efforts have led to improved booking rates and hotel occupancy levels, alongside the opening and operation of several new tourism projects, including the Dead Sea Tourist Corniche, Crown Petra Hotel, Yarmouk Lodge, and Tal Al-Rumman Hotel.
The ministry added that Aqaba Port recently welcomed its first cruise ship in some time, reflecting renewed confidence in maritime tourism and strengthening Aqaba’s position as a key destination on the regional tourism map.
It noted that the "Urdunna Jannah" program continues to support domestic tourism by organizing subsidized trips to various tourist, archaeological, and natural sites, helping stimulate economic activity across the governorates and sustain tourism businesses.
The ministry also highlighted that Jordan is preparing to launch its summer tourism season with a series of cultural, artistic, and entertainment events. The resumption of low-cost flights from July 1 is expected to boost tourist arrivals, particularly from European markets.
Furthermore, the ministry said it has intensified its presence at border crossings and key entry points to promote Jordan’s tourism offerings, raise awareness of the "Ahlan Bel-Urdun" (Welcome to Jordan) platform, and provide visitors with information and services that enhance their travel experience.
