The data shows that the number of foreign visitors reached 119,043, while the number of Jordanian visitors stood at 29,218, and Arab visitors at 7,594.

Compared to the same period last year, the number of visitors reached 161,006, including 122,821 foreigners, 27,480 Jordanians, and 10,705 Arabs. An analysis of the figures indicates a 3.2% decline in visitor numbers, amounting to 5,151 fewer visitors.

According to previous statistics announced by the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA), the total number of visitors to Petra during last year reached 582,550, marking a 27% increase compared to 2024, when 457,215 visitors were recorded.

According to the official website of the authority, Petra is considered one of the most important archaeological sites in the world and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

Located in southern Jordan, Petra is renowned for its unique architecture carved entirely into rose-colored rocks, earning it the nickname "The Rose City."

The city was established by the Nabataeans, a powerful and influential Arab civilization in the region from the 4th century BC until the 2nd century AD.

What distinguishes Petra from other archaeological sites is that its main structures — including the royal tombs, massive facades, temples, and the famous Treasury — were all carved directly into sandstone mountains, reflecting extraordinary engineering skill and a unique ability to shape nature into a fully integrated city.
