Ammon News - Israeli occupation authorities claimed on Thursday that they had foiled an attempt to smuggle weapons across the eastern (Jordanian) border, according to a joint statement issued by the Israeli military and police.

The seized bag allegedly contained 26 handguns and ammunition.

According to the Hebrew newspaper Maariv, Israeli army forces and border police carried out search operations near the eastern border fence, leading to the discovery of the bag and the confiscation of the weapons and ammunition inside.

The statement added that the seized items were transferred to Israeli police for further legal procedures and investigation.
