Ammon News - Jordan ranked 164th globally and 10th in the Arab world among the world’s most powerful passports, according to new data released by the Passport Index, published by Arton Capital.
The data showed a decline in the strength of the Jordanian passport to 62 points in 2026, compared with 65 points recorded in 2025.
Regionally, the United Arab Emirates maintained its lead among the world’s strongest passports after its score rose to 182 points, the highest score ever recorded in the index’s history.
Qatar ranked second in the Arab world, followed by Kuwait in third, Saudi Arabia fourth, Bahrain fifth, Oman sixth, Morocco seventh, Tunisia eighth, and Algeria ninth.
Singapore retained second place globally with 175 points, while Malaysia remained the only other Asian passport in the top tier, holding 17th place worldwide.
According to the index, Jordan ranked among the top 10 Arab countries in passport strength, outperforming Egypt, Lebanon, Libya, Yemen, Iraq, and Syria, which ranked last in the Arab world.
European passports dominated most of the top 20 global rankings, led by Spain, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, and Denmark.
