Ammon News - The total number of overnight tourists and same-day visitors during January and February reached 1,094,670, including 592,206 Arab tourists and visitors, accounting for 54% of the total number.
According to data from Jordan’s Ministry of Tourism, the number of overnight tourists and same-day visitors during January and February declined by 3.6% compared with the same period in 2025, when the total reached 1,136,084.
Detailed data on Arab visitors showed that the number of overnight tourists reached 477,882, while same-day visitors totaled 151,244 during January and February 2025. In the same period of 2026, overnight Arab tourists numbered 448,973, while same-day visitors reached 143,233, marking a decline of 5.9%.
The Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) had previously reported a 27.2% decline in tourism revenue during April 2026, which fell to $517.1 million, mainly due to lower tourism income from all nationalities.
As a result, tourism revenue during the first four months of 2026 declined by 10.4% to $2.17 billion, compared with a 15.3% increase that brought revenues to $2.43 billion during the same period in 2025.
The data also showed declines in tourism revenue during the first four months of 2026 from Jordanian expatriates by 19.5%, Americans by 17.1%, Europeans by 13.1%, Arabs by 3.3%, and other nationalities by 13.2%.
In addition, spending by Jordanians and residents traveling abroad fell by 12.9% during the first four months of 2026, reaching $562.6 million. In April 2026 alone, spending declined by 33.7% to $103 million.
Consequently, net tourism income during the first four months of 2026 decreased by 9.5%, reaching $1.61 billion.
