Army chief, Libyan military delegation discuss strengthening defense cooperation

Ammon News - Chief of the Joint Staff, Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti, on Sunday received a Libyan military delegation, headed by the Secretary-General of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, Lit. Gen. Khairi Khalifa Al-Tamimi, at his office in the General Command.

Talking at the meeting, Huneiti commended the "brotherly deep-rooted " Jordanian-Libyan relations, praising the "advanced" level of military cooperation and coordination between the two countries' armed forces.

Huneiti added that this collaboration reflects their shared commitment to strengthening the defense partnership and exchanging expertise in various military fields.

In turn, Al-Tamimi commended the "advanced professional" level of the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF)-Arab Army, valuing their progress in training and modernization efforts.

He called for expanding the horizons of joint military cooperation to serve the common interests.

In a related context, the Joint Jordanian-Libyan Military Cooperation Committee held a meeting at the JAF's General Command.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed aspects of joint cooperation and coordination in military, training, and technical fields, and ways to enhance them to keep pace with regional developments.

They also reviewed mechanisms for improving joint programs and initiatives, aimed to strengthen "efficiency and readiness" of the two brotherly countries' armed forces.

The meeting was attended by Li. Gen. Al-Tamimi, JAF's Assistant for Operations and Training, Brig. Gen. Naji Manasir, and a number of senior officers from the Jordanian and Libyan armed forces. Petra
