Ammon News - Chairman of the Greater Amman Municipality Committee Yousef Shawarbeh, launched an electronic service for issuing parking and valet permits through the municipality’s official website, with the aim of regulating the sector and reducing disorderly and illegal practices in streets and commercial areas.
The launch of the service comes as part of the municipality’s efforts to expand its digital services and simplify procedures for business owners, enhancing service efficiency and improving organization and oversight.
Shawarbeh said the service would help curb the misuse of sidewalks and traffic obstruction, while strengthening oversight of unlicensed service providers to ensure valet services are offered according to legal and safe standards.
The municipality explained that the service allows parking company owners and business owners to issue permits electronically, provided they secure a licensed parking location, obtain clean criminal records and security approvals for workers, comply with a unified dress code, and provide insurance coverage for any traffic accidents.
It added that the service has been electronically linked with the Ministry of Interior and the Public Security Directorate, stressing that inspection campaigns will be intensified and legal measures will be taken against violators and those operating without the required permits.
