Jordan, Saudi Arabia discuss industrial, trade cooperation

11-05-2026 02:48 PM

Ammon News - Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply Yarub Qudah and Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Al-Khorayef stressed building on the deep-rooted ties between the two countries and expanding economic, industrial, and trade cooperation in support of broader Arab economic integration.

During talks held via videoconference on Monday, the two ministers underscored the need to widen industrial and investment partnerships, particularly in priority sectors, including pharmaceutical, food, and mining industries, as well as logistics services.

They also emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation in supply and procurement chains to improve the efficiency of national industries and enhance their competitiveness at the regional and international levels.

The ministers affirmed both countries’ commitment to supporting partnerships between the Jordanian and Saudi private sectors and creating an enabling environment for joint industrial and investment projects. Such efforts, they said, would help generate new economic opportunities, increase mutual investments, and capitalize on the industrial and logistics capabilities and advantages of both countries.

The talks also addressed challenges and obstacles facing the growth of bilateral trade and ways to resolve them through stronger coordination, improved cooperation mechanisms, and simplified procedures governing trade movement and the flow of goods and services.

The two sides said these measures would positively affect trade volume and strengthen the sustainability of supply chains across the region.

They also stressed the importance of continued coordination and consultation between relevant authorities in both countries and of intensifying joint meetings to advance industrial and trade integration, support economic development efforts, and strengthen food and industrial security, as well as regional supply chains.
