Ammon News - Jordan welcomed 1,094,670 international visitors during the first two months of 2026, according to official data from the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.
The figures showed that visitors were divided into two categories: 191,067 same-day visitors and 903,603 overnight tourists.
According to the data, the majority of visitors were Jordanians living abroad, followed by visitors from Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Palestine.
The data also indicated that most visitors entered Jordan through land border crossings, accounting for 61.5% of total arrivals.
Compared with the same period last year, the number of visitors declined by 3.6%. During January and February 2025, Jordan received 1,136,084 international visitors, including 198,449 same-day visitors and 937,635 overnight tourists.
The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities had previously affirmed its efforts to strengthen the tourism sector’s performance and increase its contribution to the GDP by developing tourism products and infrastructure, improving visitor experiences, intensifying marketing campaigns, focusing on various tourism types, and diversifying target markets to ensure sustainable growth, create jobs, and reinforce Jordan’s position as a global tourism destination.
Earlier, the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) reported a 3.8% decline in tourism revenue during the first quarter of 2026, reaching $1.65 billion, compared with a growth of 8.9% and revenues of $1.72 billion during the same period in 2025.
