Ammon News - The Drivers and Vehicles Licensing Department will begin implementing the new technical inspection instructions starting today, Sunday.

The department explained that the new vehicle licensing instructions are as follows:

-Private passenger vehicles, motorcycles, and private joint transport vehicles that are no more than five years old will undergo a technical inspection only once when they are registered for the first time.

-Private passenger vehicles, motorcycles, and private joint transport vehicles will undergo a technical inspection once every two years, regardless of the vehicle’s manufacturing year. Vehicles will be exempted based on the license expiry year and the vehicle’s last plate number digit.

The department noted an example: "If the last digit of the vehicle plate number is even and the license expiry year is also even, the vehicle will be exempt from inspection, and vice versa."
