07-05-2026 08:12 AM

Ammon News - A sustained warming trend is taking hold across the country, with temperatures expected to climb steadily through the weekend under largely stable and sunny conditions, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department.

Thursday is bringing a noticeable increase in temperatures, although readings remain slightly below seasonal averages for this time of year. Conditions are sunny and mild across most regions, while relatively warmer weather prevails in the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Winds are easterly and moderate, shifting to northwesterly during the evening hours.

The warming trend is forecast to strengthen further on Friday, with another marked rise in temperatures ushering in spring-like and moderate conditions across most regions. Warmer weather is expected to dominate low-lying and desert areas, while easterly winds may become active at times, raising dust particularly in Badia regions.

Temperatures are expected to continue their upward climb on Saturday, with sunny and warm conditions prevailing across most parts of the country and relatively hot weather developing in the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Southeasterly winds will remain moderate, becoming active at intervals before shifting northwesterly during the evening.

Similar conditions are forecast to persist on Sunday, with warm and sunny weather continuing across most regions and relatively hot conditions maintained in low-lying and desert areas. Easterly winds are expected to remain moderate and occasionally active before turning northwesterly later in the day.

Temperature ranges on Thursday reflect the warming pattern, with East Amman forecast between 24 C and 14 C, and West Amman between 22 C and 12 C. Northern highlands will record 19 C to 10 C, while the Sharah highlands range between 20 C and 8 C.

In the Badia, temperatures are expected between 28 C and 15 C, and in the plains between 25 C and 14 C. The northern Jordan Valley is forecast at 29 C to 17 C, rising to 33 C to 21 C in the southern valley. The Dead Sea will record 32 C to 20 C, while Aqaba reaches 31 C to 19 C. Petra
