Ammon News - The Cybercrime Unit has warned citizens against interacting with fraudulent text messages sent to their phones that falsely appear to come from official entities.
These messages urge recipients to quickly "pay traffic fines" through scam links attached to the message, claiming this is necessary to avoid increased penalties or additional fines.
The unit urged the public not to engage with such messages under any circumstances, to treat them as fraudulent, and to delete them immediately to avoid falling victim to cyber fraud. Citizens were also advised to rely only on official, recognized websites when completing such transactions.
