Gov't: Regional developments will not affect Jordan’s economic growth

Ammon News - Government Communications Minister and official spokesperson Mohammed Al-Momani stated on Sunday that Jordan is continuing to implement its strategic projects and enhance its economic strength.

The ongoing regional developments will not be allowed to hinder the country’s economic progress, Al-Momani stressed.

In a press statements, Al-Momani said the resilience of the Jordanian economy is reflected in international assessments, which have demonstrated the Kingdom’s ability to deal with disruptions with high efficiency.

Al-Momani pointed out to the importance of signing 10 agreements with Syria, as proof of increased economic activity.

He also reiterated Jordan’s deep connections with allies in the Gulf, highlighting Jordan’s vital projects with the UAE, in particular the joint Aqaba port railway project.

Al-Momani stressed that railways are not a substitute for trucks, but rather a complement to the Kingdom’s transport system, enhancing the economy’s capacity for imports, exports, transportation, and logistics.

In an attempt to gain investors trust, the minister affirmed that the government follows a media plan focused on highlighting positive economic indicators, which is set to reflect on economic growth.

Also, the minister praised the role of Jordan’s Armed Forces and the Public Security Directorate in protecting the country’s safety.

He also affirmed that the rational political discourse of the Hashemite Leadership was the main factor in overcoming the impact of regional wars.

The minister concluded his statement by reassuring the public regarding the food situation, by referring to previous crises as proof of Jordan’s consistent preparedness.
