CARC: Resumption of flights to airports that have opened their airspace

09-04-2026 12:41 PM

Ammon News - The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC), Daifallah Al-Farajat, confirmed that Jordan’s airspace has remained fully operational and has not experienced any closures since the beginning of the recent events, noting that air traffic has continued uninterrupted.

Al-Farajat stated that flights of the national carrier "Royal Jordanian", have operated normally to European and American destinations without disruption.

He explained that the limited suspensions earlier were solely due to sovereign decisions by certain countries to close their own airspace, which temporarily halted flights to those destinations for safety reasons, and were not caused by any issues in Jordanian airspace.

With the cessation of military operations in the region, Al-Farajat pointed to the beginning of a new phase of aviation recovery, saying: "We are now witnessing the reopening of some critical airspaces surrounding the Kingdom, particularly over Syria and Iraq. This positive development will directly allow the resumption of flights to airports in those countries, reconnecting the region to a fully integrated air transport network."

Al-Farajat revealed that this regional breakthrough has already benefited Jordan’s aviation sector, reflected in the resumption of operations by many international airlines to Jordanian airports, as well as a noticeable increase in international flights crossing Jordanian airspace, thanks to stability and the reopening of nearby flight routes.

He added that the reduction in flight times toward the east and north lowers operational costs for airlines and encourages an increase in the number of flights.

Al-Farajat concluded by emphasizing the high readiness of Jordanian air navigation services and technical staff to handle the expected rise in overflights and arrivals and departures, reaffirming the Kingdom’s commitment to providing the highest standards of aviation safety and security for all airlines operating in and through Jordanian airports.
