Ammon News - Public Security Directorate (PSD) spokesperson Amer Sartawi said on Saturday that the directorate has raised its level of readiness and alert to the highest degree to deal with the exceptional circumstances in the region, in addition to activating emergency plans to address various scenarios and ensure an immediate and effective response to any incident.
Speaking during a press briefing at the National Center for Security and Crisis Management, Sartawi added that the PSD has intensified the deployment of specialized teams to handle incidents involving falling missiles and debris.
He announced that the PSD has dealt with 585 reports of falling missile remnants and shrapnel across all governorates of the Kingdom, resulting in material damage limited to 59 homes, 31 vehicles, and 16 incidents involving damage to public property.
Also, the media spokesperson noted that some negative behaviors were observed among individuals and children who approached the falling objects, pointing out that most recorded injuries were caused by getting close to the debris. He urged parents to raise awareness among their children, exercise parental responsibility, and prevent them from approaching such dangerous objects.
He further confirmed that 28 injuries were recorded, most of them minor, and all those injured left the hospitals.
