Ammon News - The Public Security Directorate (PSD) has warned of expected unstable weather conditions on Wednesday evening, likely to bring scattered rainfall that may become heavy at times over limited areas in the western parts of the Kingdom. The conditions are also expected to be accompanied by thunderstorms and hail, according to official meteorological reports.
The PSD urged citizens to exercise maximum caution, avoid valleys, flood-prone areas, and low-lying regions—particularly in the Dead Sea area—and refrain from crossing water bodies, whether on foot or by vehicle.
The Directorate also stressed the importance of careful driving on rain-affected roads and warned of reduced visibility due to fog over mountainous areas, as well as dust in desert regions.
Additionally, the PSD emphasized the safe use of heating devices, warning against refueling heaters while in use or leaving them unattended. It advised turning off heating devices before sleeping, ensuring proper ventilation indoors, and avoiding the use of wood-burning stoves due to the risk of suffocation.
The Directorate reaffirmed the readiness of its personnel and equipment to respond to various weather conditions and emergencies, calling on citizens to contact the unified emergency number (911) when needed.
