Relatively cold weather on Sunday with scattered rain in several regions

29-03-2026 08:03 AM

Ammon News - Relatively cold and unsettled weather is expected to continue on Sunday, with scattered rain and reduced visibility in several regions before conditions begin to stabilize later in the week, the Jordan Meteorological Department said.

Temperatures are forecast to drop slightly, with partly cloudy skies gradually turning overcast. Scattered showers are expected, particularly across northern and central regions, while southwesterly to westerly winds are set to become active during the afternoon.

The department warned of reduced visibility due to blowing dust, especially in desert areas, as well as slippery roads in locations experiencing rainfall.

Conditions are expected to remain relatively cold on Monday, with partly cloudy skies and a chance of light morning showers in northern regions. The Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba will continue to see relatively warmer weather under moderate westerly winds that may become active at times.

A gradual warming trend is forecast to begin on Tuesday, bringing pleasant conditions across most regions and warmer weather in low-lying areas under light southwesterly winds.

Temperatures are expected to rise further on Wednesday, returning to near seasonal averages. Mild conditions will prevail across the highlands and plains, while warmer weather is expected in the Badia and low-lying areas. Cloud cover is forecast to increase gradually, particularly over southern regions.

Temperatures in eastern Amman on Sunday are expected to range between 16 C and 8 C, compared with 14 C and 6 C in western parts of the capital, while Aqaba is forecast to record highs of around 25 C and lows near 14 C. Petra
