25-03-2026 12:25 PM

Ammon News - The Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA) said on Wednesday it is considering a proposal to reduce entry fees for foreign visitors to the Petra Archaeological Park from JD50 to JD25.

The PDTRA stressed that the proposal remains under review and that no official decision has been made so far.

Chairman of the Board of Commissioners, Adnan Al Sawair, said the proposal is part of broader efforts to develop integrated tourism packages in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and industry stakeholders, aimed at stimulating tourism and enhancing the competitiveness of Jordan’s tourism product.

Any decisions regarding ticket pricing will be officially announced after the completion of necessary studies and formal approval by the relevant authorities, Al Sawair added.

He also noted that an initiatives unit has been established in partnership with the local community and the tourism sector to explore and develop ideas to support the industry during the current period.
