Ammon News - The Greater Amman Municipality has announced a state of maximum emergency starting Wednesday morning in response to an approaching weather system expected to impact the Kingdom.

GAM spokesperson Nasser Rahamneh confirmed that municipal teams are fully prepared and deployed in the field to respond to any reports received by the Tlaa Al Ali emergency operations room. Citizens were urged to report incidents via the unified call center numbers (102 and 117180).

Rahamneh also called on residents to exercise caution, avoid valleys and low-lying areas, and refrain from randomly disposing of waste, as it may block stormwater drainage systems.

He stressed the importance of checking submersible pumps in basements and commercial premises located below street level, and advised business owners to take preventive measures when storing goods in warehouses and lower floors.

Contractors and project owners were also urged to secure construction materials to prevent them from being washed away and causing blockages in rainwater drainage networks.
