Ammon News - The ArabiaWeather website have issued a detailed forecast as a deep, high-impact low-pressure system is set to affect the kingdom starting Wednesday, bringing heavy rainfall, snow, and hail, particularly to southern highlands.
Snow is expected to begin during early dawn on Thursday in the high-altitude areas of southern Jordan, including the Sharah Mountains. Snow accumulation is likely on the highest peaks, with intermittent hail showers in surrounding mountainous regions.
On Wednesday, Jordan will experience the peak of “Ghaith” storm conditions. The system is classified as a Level 4 (very high impact) low according to the Jordan Weather classification, expected to bring heavy rainfall, flooding, and snow in high-altitude southern areas including Tafilah and Sharah.
A strong cold front will sweep across the kingdom Wednesday afternoon and evening, bringing heavy rain, thunder, lightning, and hail. The city of Aqaba may also experience flash flooding.
emperatures will fall significantly, up to 7–9°C below average, creating cold and cloudy conditions nationwide. Rainfall with occasional hail will affect central areas such as Amman and Madaba in the morning.
Rain will continue intermittently into Friday, with southern regions at higher risk of flooding due to saturated soil from previous rainfall. Mountain fog and low clouds are also expected.
