Ammon News - Tourism income declined by 3.2% during the first two months of 2026, reaching $1.2 billion, compared with a 16.3% increase to $1.3 billion recorded during the same period last year, according to preliminary data released by the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ).

The decline is attributed to a 3.6% drop in the number of tourists. The data showed an increase in tourism revenue from European nationalities (49.8%), Americans (13.4%), and Asians (9.6%). In contrast, tourism income from Jordanian expatriates fell by 9.6%, from Arab visitors by 6.6%, and from other nationalities by 8.7%.

The data also indicated a 3.1% decrease in outbound tourism spending during the first two months of 2026, totaling $332.2 million.
