Ammon News - His Majesty King Abdullah II and Bahrain King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, during a meeting in Manama on Tuesday, discussed the dangerous developments in the region.

The two leaders condemned the Iranian attacks on Jordan, Bahrain, and a number of Arab states, which constitute a violation of state sovereignty and a threat to international peace and security.

The two leaders emphasised the need to step up international efforts to de-escalate the situation, to immediately cease the attacks, and stop any provocation or threat against neighbouring countries.

The two leaders underscored the importance of putting an end to threats to disrupt freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, an international corridor for energy transit and trade, which contravenes international law and the law of the sea.

The two leaders also affirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation and coordination in service of their two peoples, and bringing about comprehensive and sustainable calm in the region.

His Majesty warned of the danger of the current developments being exploited to restrict worshippers’ access to Al Aqsa Mosque and create new facts on the ground in the West Bank and Gaza.

The King also underscored the need to support Lebanon’s efforts to maintain its security, stability, and sovereignty.
