Ammon News - The Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Jordan has introduced a service enabling users to pay Zakat al-Fitr through the government’s SANAD App.
To benefit from the service, users must update the application, after which a dedicated icon will appear allowing them to complete the payment electronically.
The service allows users to pay on behalf of one or more individuals based on the amount previously set by the Jordan Ifta Department.
Earlier, the Council of Ifta, Research and Islamic Studies Jordan set the value of Zakat al-Fitr for this year at JD1.80 per person. The council also set the minimum fidya—compensation for feeding a needy person for those unable to fast due to old age or illness—at one Jordanian dinar per day.
