12-03-2026 10:17 AM

Ammon News - Jordan welcomed the adoption by the United Nations Security Council of Resolution No. 2817, submitted by Jordan and the sister states of the Gulf Cooperation Council, which condemns the unjustified Iranian attacks that targeted Jordan and Gulf States. The resolution was presented by the Kingdom of Bahrain in its capacity as the representative of the Arab Group at the Security Council and was co-sponsored by 135 countries.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates stressed that the adoption of the resolution by the Security Council is an important step representing an international consensus condemning the Iranian attacks and rejecting any violation of the sovereignty of Arab states, their security, stability, and the safety of their citizens, noting that the move contributes to consolidating security and stability in the region and ending regional tensions.

The ministry also emphasized the need for Iran to abide by the rules of international law and international humanitarian law, and to halt these attacks that threaten regional stability. It reiterated Jordan’s condemnation of the Iranian attacks on its territory and affirmed that Jordan will take all necessary and available measures to protect its citizens, security, stability, and sovereignty.

The ministry further reaffirmed Jordan’s full solidarity with brotherly Arab states in confronting these attacks and its support for any measures they take to safeguard their security, sovereignty, stability, and the safety of their citizens and residents.

It also expressed Jordan’s appreciation for the Arab and international support received for the resolution and the broad international solidarity with Jordan and the Gulf states in confronting the Iranian attacks.
