Ammon News - The Ministry of Water and Irrigation, through the Jordan Valley Authority, signed an agreement on Tuesday to expand investment under its strategic partnership with the Arab Potash Company (APC), in line with the National Water Strategy and the Economic Modernization Vision aimed at strengthening public-private sector cooperation.

According to a ministry statement, Minister of Water and Irrigation Raed Abu Saud said the ministry and the Jordan Valley Authority are working to boost investment across various regions while expanding water projects to support industrial and tourism activities, as well as drinking water needs in different parts of the Kingdom, while also creating more job opportunities for local communities.

He added that the agreement will enable the APC to further develop its operations and increase its production capacity in pursuit of its objectives, noting that the company is one of the country’s key economic drivers.

For his part, APC Chairman Shehadah Abu Hdaib said the company is consistently seeking to broaden cooperation with the public sector, adding that the agreement will generate benefits for the national economy.

He said the APC will continue expanding its investments and implementing pioneering development projects as part of its strategy to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development across different regions. He also described the Ministry of Water as one of the leading national institutions at the regional and international levels in managing water realities efficiently under exceptional conditions.
